Zeus Development would like to thank the participants.
On May 24, 2007 Zeus will host and updated workshop titled "North American Advancement of IGCC, CTL and SNG"Click here for more information.
Objectives
Workshop 1: Lowest Cost Coal for Coal to
Liquids, Integrated Gasification & Combined Cycle Generation
Review the basics of CTL and
IGCC capex and opex costs and economics for low-rank
coals.
Estimate the locations and costs of low-rank
and waste coals.
Review CTL technologies well-suited for
coal and compare low-rank coal economics to pulverized-bitumen
and gas-fired combined cycle power plants.
Consider the implications of low-rank
and waste coals on how many such CTL and IGCC projects
might be built to compete with natural gas and pulverized
coal.
Workshop 2: Lowest-Cost Coal-Transport
Technologies for CTL, IGCC Projects
Review historical trends in coal transport
economics. Evaluate the latest technological advances
in coal loading and offloading systems.
Review and compare current marine, rail
and pipeline systems, including slurry and coal-log
pipeline technologies and their limitations.
Consider mine-mouth power with HVDC transmission
relative to coal transport economics.
Consider the economics of western
CTL and IGCC projects.
Estimate delivered Btu and
kW costs for various delivery points.
